What I Wore: Staying Warm in my Cozy Anthropologie Turtleneck

Happy New Year’s readers! It’s 2017 and I already feel like I did last year once the 1st hit: cccoooollllddd!

DC winter temperatures are the same every year: cold, windy, and brisk. And this January is no different.

To kick off the year I’m keeping warm with this cozy and simple, yet fashionable, look.

Typically, when I put my looks together, I like to layer with various accessories and clothing. Although, if you’re anything like me and feeling a little tired after all of the holiday fun, it might be time to go for less.

Throughout the year I like to buy clothing out of season. This summer I stumbled upon this brand new, with tags, Anthropolgie sweater and boy has it come in handy this winter! The thick, big, turtleneck keeps my neck warm all day without having to wear a scarf inside.

And while the sweater is thick it is still soft. It’s almost like wearing a wool sleeved blanket… and I love it!

For bottoms, I threw on a pair of basic skinny denim paired with my beloved buckle booties. Sweaters + denim is a foolproof combination. It’s casual, yet flirty, and simple to pair up. Jeans work well with practically everything and same can be said for sweaters. You really can’t go wrong!

And finally, I’ve whipped out my new favorite bag: a Marc by Marc Jacobs black polyester shoulder purse from the Gaithersburg, MD Goodwill location. The strap fits over my big coat and the size fits of all my gloves, sunnies, and miscellaneous purse necessities. I’ve been wearing it almost every day since I bought it!

Curious to know the breakdown of my look? I’d be happy to share where everything came from! My outfit consisted of:

Brand new, with tags, big gray textured sweater: Moth, Anthropologie, under $7 (Originally about $80) Rockville Goodwill

Black Marc by Marc Jacobs purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs, under $15, (Originally $200+) Gaithersburg Goodwill

Skinny blue jeans: Tractr jeans, $2.99, Gaithersburg Goodwill

Sunnies: Spitfire

Booties: Rebecca Minkoff

Outfit total (Goodwill items): Under $25! Oh my!

Talk about a steal! This look would have originally been $300+!

What are your thoughts on cozy, lazy, yet trendy, New Years looks, fashionistas?
