Suited for the Sixties

1960s dress suitHey there, Jackie O! If you’re walking around with your hair bobbed, your hat pillboxed, and your sunglasses large, this look is for you. It’s time to complete your Kennedy-era transformation.

This two-piece (place a bid here!) good buy includes a sleeveless shift dress and a long jacket to match. Dating from the 1960s, this little lady is all polyester.

An ivory-and-pink checkerboard pattern seems prime for springtime, but there are plenty of ways to wear this set in fall and winter. Think about separating the two pieces. The shift can be worn with dark tights and a cardigan for work. The jacket? Add it over dress pants and a button-up top. Since the color in question is ivory, not white, you can forget about the Labor Day rule and enjoy this outfit year-round.

Want to double-up and wear them together? Think about winter weddings, or your office holiday party. A pair of elegant heels and a small clutch (in silver, perhaps) are all you need to finish off the look. Pillbox hat not required.
