Six Under Six: Poppin’ Baubles

Today I’m writing about one of my favorite topics in a new, debut series! Six Under Six is my monthly review of all the fun and wonderful things you can scoop up at your local DC Goodwill store for under $6.00. Tis’ the season to be cleaning out our closets and transitioning to summery clothes (yay!), so I know you’ll be stopping by a Goodwill donation center to make your donation. After taking a look at today’s feature, you’ll want to step into the store! Accessories are a fabulous way to show your style and switch up your wardrobe on a budget. Take a look at some of the pieces I’ve spotted at Goodwill for pennies of the retail value.

1.) Vintage Studs

There is nothing like scoring true, well-cared for vintage accessories. They’ve got an air about them that makes them feel so much better than the cheap fast-fashion remakes. Vintage 80’s style studs are really easy to find at Goodwill and they’re almost always under $4.00! Take these for example.

2.) Boho Baubles

Snagging accessories from Goodwill is great because you’ll spot styles from all over. It’s always pretty easy to find pieces that are on-trend. I love these danity, bohemian style dangles I saw at the Dale City, VA Goodwill. They’re just enough to show your style without being overly “boho” – not to mention, they’re a lot lighter than ornate boho styles found in stores right now.

3.) Colorful Accents

If you’re not one to feel creative in the morning with your clothes, throwing on a pair of colorful earrings can certainly take your look from drab to fab in a flash…oh and for less than $2.00! I love these pink and ivory earrings spotted at Goodwill. They’d be the perfect pop for one of my all-black looks when I can’t find the energy to be creative with my dress.

4.) Statement Makers

Statement necklaces are all the rage and I don’t foresee them going anywhere. A piece like the one pictured could easily cost you $30.00 at a big name department store. I’m sorry but after shopping at Goodwill for so long, most of my outfits don’t even total $20.00 in cost, you better believe I am not paying that for a necklace! I loved these gold statement necklaces for spring. They were all under $5.99!

5.) Bold Bangles

Adding color to your arm party is easily achieved by sliding on a few bright bangles. I spotted this brand new bangle (with tags!) at the Dale City, VA Goodwill for only $4.99. Enamel bangles can sell for as much as $75.00 a pop. You’ll never pay that kind of price at Goodwill!

6.) Bedazzled Everything

Okay, so this one isn’t technically a bauble but I spotted these sandals at Columbia Pike, VA Goodwill and I could not help but share! They are absolutely perfect for spring, right? The best part about these was by far the price! They were brand new from Express, so they probably sold for around $35.00 – Goodwill had them for $4.99. Score! I tried them on but alas, they were too small. I left them for the next fashionista.

There you have it, dear readers. Bling can be worn from head to toe! Have you ever scored a favorite bauble from Goodwill?
