Fashionista Friday: From Basket to Boho Home Chic!

I’m currently embarking on a closet purge so I can have more space for new Goodwill finds such as clothing and home decor. One item I have been looking for is something to store my blankets so they’re not all over the place around my apartment. Today’s Fashionista Friday gave me the perfect idea. Go to Goodwill and buy a basket!

Karla, a true Goodwill fashionista, loves all things DIY, home and vintage. As you look at her Instagram account, you’ll notice a plethora of funky DIY finds and projects ranging from jewelry to old chairs. She also loves flora, fauna and cute pups! When perusing the #MyGoodwillFind hashtags, I found this inspiring using a plain basket from Goodwill and storing fun blankets in it.

As you see, she snagged a rustic basket at Goodwill for under $5 and upcycled it to use as a home decor staple. This is such an affordable and easy way to spice up your space while staying organized!

Thanks for sharing this idea! I’d love to see more of your tips and tricks in the coming months.

Want to be a Goodwill Fashionista? Send a photo of your latest Goodwill find to fashion@dcgoodwill.org. If we feature your look here, you’ll get a badge to share on your blog or site to show everyone that you’re a savvy Goodwill Fashionista! Oh and don’t forget to add “#DCGoodwill” or “#MyGoodwillFind” to all your local finds, dear readers! I want to share the excitement of your amazing items.
