Fashionista Friday: Blake’s DIY Pink and Chevron Accent Chair

Dearest readers, it’s time for a DIY Fashionista Friday, and I KNOW you’ll love today’s feature.

Designer and blogger, Blake Mason, has a true talent for mixing colors and making old furniture look bright and new again. After finding some of her projects while perusing the #Goodwill hashtag, I instantly became hooked on her graphic and fun home designs and well as her taste for mixing saturated and playful colors together.

Blake seems to have been designing and up cycling furniture for a while now and her skill and craft shows in each of her projects.

Today’s upcycle, this modern accent chair is a real testament to how well she can transform any item into something shiny and new.

I instantly fell in love with this beautiful chair after coming across it on my IG Feed.

The hot pink and neutral gray chevon pattern couldn’t be more of a smart combination….especially one that would like excellent in my apartment next to a gold side table. 🙂 If this chair was in my home, I’d make it center stage in my living room.

If you want to embark on a project like this for your home, it really won’t break the bank. A good, sturdy chair to use as a canvas can be purchased at any DC Goodwill for at least $10… or even less!

Then, after you’ve acquired a chair, all you need to do is sand it, paint it, and if you know how to (or can learn quickly), reupholster it with some fabric that can be found at a craft store. I can a imagine an entire project like this might be about $20-$30 + time, which is such a bargain. Paint from the hardware store might be up to $10, and the fabric won’t cost more than $10 as well. It’s all pennies at this point.

Plus, in this DC hot heat, this is the perfect indoor productive project!

Thanks Blake, for sharing this DIY! It’s quite an inspiration and makes busy ladies like myself want to take sometime embark on such a fun and rewarding activity! <3
