Fashionista Friday: Alison’s Victorian Lace & Quilted Combo

Lace is a texture that I will never get tired of. It comes in so many shapes, forms, textures, and patterns that no two pieces of material are the same.

Not only is lace a unique showstopper by nature but it can be used in so many applications as well. The fabric can be worn by itself, as a part of another garment, or with layering.

Today’s Fashionista Friday shares my same love and appreciation for lace. This is exemplified in her recent fabulous #MyGoodwillFind.

But before I dive into how much I love her Victorian-style score let me tell you a bit about her!

Alison is a Goodwill loving fashionista who is also a caring teacher, wife, and cat mom. By day she teaches at an elementary school. But by night, she hits Goodwill stores, studies for her Master’s Degree, and even writes the fun fashion-focused blog Frugal Affairs.

She’s a busy lady with lots of passion and talent to say the least ;).

Her flair for scoping out gorgeous finds is clearly shown by this dress AND purse she picked up during a recent Goodwill visit.

I’m absolutely in love with the lace pattern cut-outs on this body-con dark Guess mini dress. They’re a bit sassy, but not too revealing, which fits exactly within my current personal style. The little peekaboo area on the hips are especially flirty. But again, not too scandalous. With a blazer over this dress I might even dare wearing it to work.

Although it does a bit of hip hugging a long cardigan might turn this dress into something a little more conservative.

And lets not forget about the bag. Isn’t it so chic? The Chanel vibes are speaking to me but its not too flashy or brand-heavy. Every fashionista needs a classic black sassy handbag and this particular style is one to consider adding to your collection. The shiny exterior will always contrast nicely against more matte materials.

Solid shopping all around, Alison! I love this Victorian classy and sassy look, and I can’t wait to see your other upcoming fall outfits. You’re always posting cute looks on your Instagram page, all of which I always look forward to seeing. Keep up the great work love! 🙂
