Fashion Forward: Fabric adornments

Ever gotten a great bargain at Goodwill, then wondered if you would ever wear the garment in question? It happens to even the savviest of shoppers, but there’s no shame involved. All those “mistakes” can be turned into great DIY projects!*

Kendra of The Good Life recently offered a tutorial to refashion a piece of fabric into a new piece of statement jewelry. She took strips of beautiful raw silk from a not-so-great dress, and twisted them into fabric flowers that now hang from a necklace. Extra creative high-five to Kendra for mounting her fabric flowers on a piece of contrasting fabric before attaching the panel to the chain. Your fashionista loves an almost-hidden pop of color!

With enough hot glue and creativity, there are probably a bunch of ways to reuse fabric to make fun jewelry like this. Do you have any ideas? Seen anyone on the street wearing something fun like Kendra’s necklace?

Tell me about it!

*If DIY isn’t your thing, always remember you can donate your regretful purchases back to Goodwill so someone else can enjoy them!
