Fashionista Friday: Kristen’s Charming Charlie top

This week’s fashionista is a fantastically frugal mom. Kristen of Incredibly Thrifty has an excellent eye for stylish thrift store finds. I found her while doing some late night browsing of the “thrifted” hashtag on Instagram this week. The byline on her blog, “adventures of frugal mom,” caught my attention; this is one fashionable momma!

Kristen is native of the Carolinas but now calls Fredericksburg, Virginia home with her boyfriend and two sons. As a busy mom, she enjoys any free time she can get to indulge in some frugal and responsible retail therapy. They’ve got some amazing Goodwill stores where she lives; I can vouch for that personally. My fantastically frugal Momma and I take an annual trip to make our rounds at the Rappahannock Goodwill stores. Fredericksburg is home to a Goodwill Outlet, too. If you haven’t been, take a trip down to the burg to check out Goodwill finds that you purchase by the pound. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience. Recently, Kristen made a weekend trip up to the DC area to see what our stores have to offer. With her keen eye for great deals, she posted some amazing finds on her Instagram.

I adored this fun fruity print tank that she scored. What a deal she got! This is a Charming Charlie tank, brand new with the tags still attached. The top went for $25.00 its original store, but Kristen bought it for $1.98 at our South Dakota Avenue store. She styled it with a pair of $5.00 thrifted Levi jeans and $5.00 Decree booties from her local Fredericksburg Goodwill stores. That is a $12.00 outfit, fashionistas! How fun would this outfit be for a country concert? I love the southern vibe of her styling.

In a message to me, Kristen wrote, “There is no place I would rather be than at my local Goodwill hunting for a good bargain. I believe that being on trend with the latest fashion doesn’t have to come with a “full” price tag.” If that isn’t a tried and true Goodwill Fashionista, I don’t know what is.

Kristen, we wish you the best here at DC Goodwill and look forward to continuing to watch you grow your thrifty blog. You are a thrifting superstar!

PS – I am calling you on my next trip to Fredericksburg so you can show me the insider ropes to all your local stores!
