Fashionista Friday: A Collection of Capes and Cardigans

Dearest fashionistas, many types of items can add a touch of warmth to a look that is making you feel chilly. Coats, blazers, ponchos…..the options are endless. Today’s Fashionista Friday shows us a lot of options likes capes and cardigans that will keep you comfy and looking super cute!

I found @BaileyMichelle88’s Instagram feed while I was in search of ways to rock a cardigan this fall. Lucky for me, I not only stumbled upon some cardigan-filled looks, but ones with capes as well! I only have a few in my wardrobe, and I rarely wear them because I simply don’t know how to quite yet.

I first stumbled upon this look. It’s incredibly fall appropriate, for it’s composed of colors I feel like I see a lot during the season. Browns, greens, blues….colors of nature.

If this look didn’t have a cardigan, it would be more appropriate for spring. It’s interesting how one simple item can transform a look!

One big thing we can learn from today’s fashionista about cardigans is that they can be worn with a belt and look super snazzy. With a $2 belt from Goodwill, you can add shape to your waist when wearing a loose or oversized piece.

With this second look, we can also see a cardigan makes an outfit suitable for cooler temps. Cardigans are perfect for layering on top of a sleeveless shirt. I am in love with how the blue cardigan adds a subtle hint of color to this all neutral look. It’s a little pop of color that isn’t over the top, and is very office appropriate for a more formal setting.

There was one fall where I stocked up on tanks and cardigans because I knew the combinations were endless. This also allowed me to shop in the tank top section of Goodwill during the winter, without feeling like I was stashing them for the Spring. I knew I could wear them immediately!

Finally….a cape! This vintage style cape is everything, dear readers!

This piece of outwear is amazing because it’s basically a big cozy and snazzy blanket with holes for your arms. The cut is incredibly feminine, and doesn’t look like an oversized bag.

@BaileyMichelle88’s cape is one I need in my closet, that’s for sure. The brown plaid, although a pattern, is  of a neutral color, making it perfect for most color palettes. It’s also at a good length, hitting just below one’s bottom without being too long or oversized.

Overall, I love how this cape was made casual. By wearing a pair of jeans, fall knee-high boots, and a sweater, this fashionista is extra warm and comfy for a crisp breezy November day.

Thanks BaileyMichelle88 for sharing your lovely looks, online! Keep posting those rockin’ and classic fall ensembles. I can’t wait to see how you pair other items of clothing together!

Which one of these looks is your favorite, dear readers?
