Fashionista Friday: Karen

This week’s Fashionista is a student with a keen eye for thrifty deals. And she’s not afraid to travel to find them!

Karen writes the County Meanderings blog, where topics include recipes and home cooking along with thrifty fashion. She’s a self-proclaimed “thriftanista.”

A glance at her blog proves that Karen knows her stuff. She shows off True Religion jeans scored for under $10 (the retail for $100+, you know), professional attire, and tons of fun shoes.

She recently ventured into our neck of the woods to visit at few Goodwill of Greater Washington retail locations. I can’t resist this dress she found at the Alexandria store for just $8.98. A new Tahari dress would cost at least $120 if you found it at Macy’s.

I’m smitten with the blue color—it’s bold without being too bright for work. The bodice can do wonders for those who are nervous about their tummies. And I’ll take a good cap sleeve over a sleeveless dress any day.

The only thing missing is a photo of Karen rocking the dress!
