After I shared Caitlin‘s winter gear a few weeks ago, Corey also dropped me a line from chilly Vermont. This vintage curator is an avid thrifter, but found a piece at Goodwill she just couldn’t let go. She wrote:
I could not bear to part with this bold coat when I discovered it! It’s perfect for dark winter days and the gold buttons catch the rare sunlight reflecting off snow delightfully! … I was lucky enough that the woman trying it on before me put it back!
Now that’s what I call serendipity.
Corey was lucky to find this jacket with wide belt still intact—it’s really a treat to be able to take the matching belt home, too! The gold buttons on this coat, combined with the bold shade of red make this coat stand out from the crowd while still being professional. Go ahead, wear it to work or a meeting. You’re sure to brighten up the room!
Winter may not be leaving our weather forecast soon, but be sure to keep an eye out for coats and jackets as spring approaches. The changing of seasons will be a perfect time to find freshly donated outerwear at your DC-area Goodwill store. Whether you like current clothing or vintage, you can find a jacket or trench, or perhaps a warm winter coat to save for next fall. If you’re shopping for little ones, you can find a coat that they can grow into next winter—for a real bargain!
Corey, you’re a Fashionista for sure. I wouldn’t let that coat get away either! Thanks for supporting Goodwill of Northern New England in Vermont!
