Fashionista Friday: Caitlin
This week’s Fashionista Friday honoree is far from our home of Washington, D.C. But she’s got awesome winter style that I can’t pass up. Caitlin from Wore Out is a layering queen!
Wore Out is the fashion journey of a stylish redhead in Burlington Vermont. If you think it’s tough to look fashionable on cold days in D.C., try Burlington on for size—last I checked, the city was experiencing daily highs in the 20s.
Caitlin has it covered. The recent look shown here piles on layers without looking snowsuit-chic. She chose a black-and-white sweater to wear over a long winter-white dress—both from Goodwill! A southwestern-inspired jacket with a warm collar is the top layer, along with warm boots and a hat.
I’d love to see what the white dress looks like head-to-toe. Maybe in a future post? For now, the layering seems pretty genius to me.
“There’s something about wearing winter white that makes everything feel lighter,” Caitlin writes. This fashionista agrees: nothing makes a day a little brighter—and warmer—like shrugging off blah black!
Caitlin, you’re definitely a Fashionista, and you’re welcome to scour Goodwill’s racks with me in D.C. any time!
