Friday Furnishings: It’s Trunk Show Time!
Big announcement, dear readers: the DCGF can reveal to you exclusively that our first Travelin’ Trunk Show of the year will be on Saturday, January 17th at Greater Goods on U Street! And we’re coupling it with a donation drive, so all of you Dupont Circle/Shaw/Columbia Heights folks who don’t have a chance to make it to a Goodwill donation center for whatever reason will now have the opportunity to drop off items in your neighborhood. Start cleaning out those closets!
We’ll be running the donation drive all day and the trunk show will be in the early afternoon; hours are still TBD. But rest assured that you’ll have all of your favorite contemporary and vintage fashions from yours truly in one place. And as anyone who’s been to a Travelin’ Trunk Show before can attest, the selection is pretty sweet. Oh! And it’s all at Goodwill’s everyday low prices. Does it get any better? I think not.
Coupled with that will be the fantastic assortment of eco-friendly merchandise that Daniel has stocked at Greater Goods, including home furnishings like the Metro Manhole Recycled Doormat at left, composed of 100% recycled truck tires. I have a different version from the same company that’s a giand barcode, which he carries in store. And they’re under $25! This is gonna be a trunk show to remember, for sure.
And…one other thing, dear readers. This is the last of the Friday Furnishings posts (“Awww…”). It’s been a good run, but a new year means new projects for the DCGF. And I want YOU to get involved.
Starting Friday, January 2nd, we’ll be premiering “Ask The Fashionista,” an opportunity for you to hurtle any and all questions my way having to do with clothes, shopping, Goodwill, some random item you found in the back of your great aunts closet, the latest look you put together on your thrifting adventures… ANYTHING that you want me and the other readers to know about and give feedback on. This is your opportunity to become a part of the blog with words and pictures. So hit me with your best shot! Feel free to start sending along your questions and comments to fashion@dcgoodwill.org and I’ll do my best to answer them on the blog. This is going to be so fun!
