Va, Va, Va Vintage (And More!)
Oh, dear readers, it’s been a flurry of activity for yours truly over the last several days. You see, the DCGF is heading to NY Fashion Week next Monday! That’s right, I’ll be bringing you the freshest spring fashions from Phillip Lim (see, he’s smiling at me, at right), Carlos Miele, Gottex, and more from the Big Apple.
You mean you actually have tickets to those shows? I do! I have press credentials for the tents and Bryant Park, tickets to the shows, and the whole nine yards. I’m official this time around, not just crashing blogger parties, although that’s fun, too, and I’ll be doing some of that again.
So, yes, I have a place to stay, but no train tickets just yet. And, no, I haven’t picked out what I’m going to wear. Any suggestions are appreciated. Last year it was blazing hot and I stoopidly wore a black silk dress from Goodwill. Won’t make that mistake twice!
Maybe I’ll go with something vintage, maybe something that didn’t sell at last week’s trunk show (see another great shot from the Marimekko store, below). You see, there are a bunch of great pieces left, many of which we’ll be posting tomorrow on ShopGoodwill.
Check out dresses, blazers, tops, and skirts for women, in addition to a small selection of shirts and jackets for men. We even have a few pairs of vintage shoes and a couple of handbags! And what’s the easiest way to shop for all of this vintage fabulousness? Simply visit dcgoodwill.org, scroll down to “Shop Goodwill” on the left hand side, and click on “Shop Online” (if these links aren’t working in your browser). Then you’ll be redirected to DC Goodwill’s “store” within ShopGoodwill! That takes care of you, dear readers…now what am I going to wear…

Yeah, how did you get credentials??
Congrats and can’t wait to hear all about it! How long will you be up there?

Well, I applied for credentials a couple of months ago as a member of the fashion press and as the “only nonprofit fashion blogger in the nation.” I’m pretty sure that’s a true statement! So they let me in the tents and I’ll be there Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week. Look for lots of special posts! -the DCGF
